How Does Spotify Wrapped Work?
On December 1, 2022, Wednesday, Spotify users began unwrapping wrapped. This is the annual Spotify year-end roundup that showcases their top artists, songs, and podcasts of the year while unveiling the top artists, songs, albums, and podcasts of 2021 overall. Top 5 artists, Top 5 songs, and top 5 albums are the three most anticipated Wrapped statistics. These are based on the total number of streams. For the overall lists, streams are counted from January 1 to November 27. Though Spotify wouldn't confirm the date they stopped counting streams for the individual lists, they did say it was "a few weeks prior" to the Wrapped December 1 release date.

Does Spotify Wrapped Minutes Include Podcasts?
Yes! Your minutes include music as well as podcasts. Spotify confirmed this in a series of its 2022 announcements. Wrapped frequently asked questions with the phrase: "Yes. Total minutes = music + podcasts." However, because Spotify combines the minutes, it is impossible to tell how many were music and podcasts.

Spotify compiles your year's most important listening stats into a visually appealing Wrapped slideshow that can be shared on social media. According to Spotify, you should have heard at least three podcast shows with three or more individual episodes for podcasts to appear in that story. These podcasts must also have been streamed on three or more separate days for you to be eligible for one podcast story. Many people are complaining on Twitter that podcast stats aren't in their Wrapped this year, but that means you didn't listen to enough.
